Easter egg hunt

As it was good Friday today and it was the last day I would see Tom before easter I decided to do him an Easter egg hunt. Tom isn't able to take anything orally so I had to think outside the box a little bit when thinking of what the easter bunny would leave Tom.

Luckily Tom decided to grab a quick power nap this morning so I was able to set the hunt up without him realising. I really liked being able to do it this way as it kept the magic for Tom. I ran around the downstairs of the house hiding toys and chocolate eggs. I used little bunny feet that I found at Tesco to direct Tom to where the treats had been hidden.

Tom started in the kitchen, he had his little felt easter basket on his lap and he was ready to start collecting! The easter bunny left the first few items on the stairs for Tom. As Tom was sat in his 'panda chair' by R82 it allowed him to see things high and low, as the chair moves up and down with the touch of a button. The easter bunny left Tom a spiky light up sensory ball. You can find these in most toy shops. The easter bunny also left Tom's Mummy and Daddy a little egg too!

Tom then had to follow the bunny feet into the lounge. The bunny had left a few little treats on the couch. Here Tom collected some giant bubbles. These bubbles I found in Tesco, they were part of the easter collection so if you are quick I am sure you would be able to pick some up ready for your own easter hunt on Sunday. The easter bunny also left a small handful of chocolate eggs.

Then we had to go into Tom's bedroom and here the easter bunny had been very busy! He had managed to hide some treats on Tom's bookshelf. Here he left some magic plastic. I had never seen this before but I found it in Hobbycraft. I thought this would be a fun sensory activity for Tom to do whilst in his standing frame.

The easter bunny had then jumped onto Tom's bed and left two Easter eggs for the grown ups and then he left some orange slime for Tom. Slime is so much fun and we are having a lot of fun playing with it at the moment. You can pick this up almost anywhere at the moment as it is so on trend.

Tom's basket was getting pretty heavy by now, but there was more! We followed the bunny feet and behind all of Tom's teddies we saw more treats! More chocolate, and then a tube of magic bubbles. These were found in Hobbycraft along with the magic plastic. These are bubbles that Tom could catch and hold in his hand. I thought these would be a lot of fun outside when the weather decides to warm up a little!

Finally we walked into the bathroom and the easter bunny had left two big easter eggs for Tom's Mummy and Daddy and then for Tom he had left a gigantic dinosaur egg! I saw this and thought it would be a great alternative for children who aren't able to eat chocolate eggs. Tom is busy hatching his dinosaur at the moment, we are hoping it is going to be a friendly one!

After the hunt was over Tom was even given a little bit of chocolate to taste! He was very impressed, best day ever!

We all had such a lot of fun with this Easter egg hunt. I hope it has given you guys some ideas! Happy easter to all of the wonderful people supporting Tom and I with the blog.
