Scented paint.

Today Tom and I spent the afternoon wandering around Hobbycraft looking for new ideas for play activities! Tom and I get up to all sorts of things together as you can tell by our blog. Today whilst shopping we saw that Hobbycraft now have a range of scented paints.

We have in the past made our own scented paint. At Christmas we made Christmas spiced paint and used this leading up to Christmas. This is great but when I saw the scented paint in Hobbycraft I thought that it would save a lot of time prepping. and also they would last a lot longer than our homemade scented paint.

Today Tom didn't want to look at the camera!

The scented paint is really good. They only have a small colour collection at the moment but I am sure as it gets more popular they will intoruduce more colours and scents to the range. The colours and scents they currently have are:

-Red/Bubble gum

-Orange/Candy floss

-Turquoise/Grape

-Pale blue/Cherry

-Pale pink/Peach

The scents are pretty strong. This is great for us because it means that Tom is able to smell them whilst playing with them, He doesn't need it under his nose to smell it like most scented paints/pens.

Today we used the red paint and Tom made his very own bubble gum scented cherry tree. Tom had a lot of fun with these paints. Tom loved to cover his hands in the paint. The heat of Tom's hands also released the smell even more and the room smelt amazing.

The only downside to these paints is that the red in particular does not come off of the skin very well. It took a little while of soaking Tom's hands in some soapy water and a little scrubbing to get it off but we managed in the end. Just be careful if you have little ones that want to touch everything in sight, as I imagine these paints wouldn't come out of carpet too easily!

Be sure to check these scented paints out. They will save you a lot of prepping time but they will also last a lot longer than any scented paint you make yourself at home.
