On Wednesday Tom took us to the theatre in Winchester to see 'So you think you know about dinosaurs?'. We had booked this a while ago and we were very excited, we didn't really know what to expect from the show but we were not disappointed.

We went to the Theatre Royal Winchester. This is a lovely theatre with awesome accessibility for Tom. The best thing about this theatre is that even though the wheelchair space is right at the back you are still very close to the stage and so Tom can enjoy the show just the same as anyone else. The staff are always friendly and this time we met an amazing man who came and said hello to Tom and ensured that Tom was well looked after by the theatre staff and was enjoying the show, this made the experience even more special.
The show itself was presented by Dr Ben Garrod. He was great. The show was an interactive educational show all about dinosaurs. During the show Dr Ben would show video clips and pictures whilst chatting to the audience. He spent a lot of time asking the audience questions and getting the children involved. It was a very interesting show. Of course Tom knew the answers to all of the questions but Tom's mummy and I knew none! How embarrassing!
Did you know that the T-Rex actually was covered in feathers and had a ginger colouring?
Did you know that a Dinosaur wouldn't be able to roar? They would only be able to make the sound of a pigeon!

The show was fascinating and we all learnt lots of new things! Dr Ben Garrod was very engaging and you could tell that he had a real passion for what he did and he was able to pass this onto the children he was talking to. He also had a wonderful sense of humour and that made it all the more engaging and fun.
'So you think you know about dinosaurs' is touring until the middle of April. Be sure to check it out! Dr Ben Garrod also writes books about dinosaurs for children so if you have little paleontologist on your hands then be sure to check out the link below for his books.
